This Past Sunday October 22nd I ran / crawled my way to the finish like of the Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco. While the actual race was less then fun for me due to very large blisters covering much of both feet, the weekend was great and very inspirational. The event was 95% women and catered to women in every way. Not many marathons have pedicure stations at the end and chocolate on the course! Plus to top it off rather than recieve the typical finishers medal, we recieved silver necklaces in tiffany's boxes given to us by good looking SF firemen in tuxedos!! Doesn't get much better than that! Plus all proceeds from the marathon went to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society so the event was filled with Team in Training teams from all over the US, Canada and Puerto Rico!! This is the Team in Training Team that went to San Francisco and ran in the marathon or 1/2 marathon. It was a fun group and we just had to take one more group picture when we were back home and before everyone went their seperate ways. It was bitter sweet...glad to have the race done but sad the season is over! GO TEAM!!
