Last night I helped out my friend's Jeff and Mitzi. They had dinner plans so their children, Ethan (5 yr) and Claire (7 yr) came over to my house to hang out. We had a great time and Jesse especially enjoying the attention! You can see from the picture Jesse has a new friend!!

Hats off for this mom to be!

Saturday I went to a "Kentucky Derby" style baby shower / luncheon for my friend Meghan who is expecting her second baby next month. It was at one of my favorite places, Arcadia Farms! It was so much fun! Shopping for a hat was a little stressful since I don't usually wear any kind of hat other than a baseball hat! It was a lot of fun and as you can see below...Meghan looks fantastic and was excited we all celebrated Presley's anticipated arrival!

Night on the town

Angie Madigan, Linda Buchheit (soon to be Doherty :-) ), Aimee Cairns, Amy Kell and I after dinner.

Michigan Avenue was fun to see!

Saturday night after the shower we went into the City for dinner and some sight seeing. We had dinner at Sushi Samba. Then the mom's to be, Angie and Amy went home and Linda, Aimee and I walked around down town. We went walked Michigan Ave, saw the Sears Tower and then had drinks on the 96th floor of the John Hancock Building which is the 4th tallest building in the word! It was a fun night!

Sam Cairns the weight lifter

My friend Aimee's son Sam is going to be 3 August 20th. He was so muh fun to play with while visiting Chicago. He entertained Linda and I from the time we stepped in the door. The most enjoyable thing was watching him "power lift". Aimee's cousin is a weight lifter who will most likely be going to the olympics. They took Sam to a competition he had in Chicago a few weeks ago and Sam was mesmorized! So Paul made him his own weight and needless to say Sam has been training. The funniest thing is that he has to be introduced and as the audience you must "cheer him on". So Aimee will say "come on Sam you've got this one". He then lifts the weight and holds it for a little while and then drops it just like the pros! It was so funny! We'll have to see if this early training pays off!

Trip tp Chicago

Thursday I flew to St. Louis and drove with my friend Linda to Chicago for a friend Amy Kell's baby shower. We stayed with my friend Aimee Cairns. The visit was a lot of fun and it was great to spend time with all my close college friends. I love how when we get together it is like no time has passed! Linda, Aimee and I worked hard to throw a nice shower for Amy and we were very pleased with how everything turned out.

Linda and Aimee needed a drink as the shower got underway since we had been up since 6:30 preparing food for the shower that started at 11!
