All in a days work

My co-workers, Jeff Thompson and Jon Watkins
This week is a busy week at work.  Snee Farm Country Club hosts the Rice Planters Amateur golf tournament.  This is the 39th year and looking back on past participants and winners is pretty impressive.   Golfers that have played in the tournament include, Tom Lehman, Davis Love III, Andy Bean, Stewart Cink, Scott Verplank, Duffy Waldorf, Scott Hoch, Hal Sutton, and Mark O'Meara.
It is a busy week but fun seeing all these very talented amateur players.  The most exciting part of the tournament so far has been meeting Dan Marino!!!  Not often do you have the opportunity to meet a hall of fame football legend!  He was so nice!  His son is playing in the tournament so he will be hanging around the rest of the week.  We are in good company with him!
My new friend, Dan Marino!

Georgia on my mind!

Last Thursday I took the day off and drove to Savannah to meet my dear friend Singne! Singne and her husband Mike moved from Scottsdale to Atlanta in January.  Knowing I would have a good friend only 5 hours away was definitely a plus in deciding to move!  Savannah is a little over two hours from Charleston and it is more like four-five from Atlanta.  I was lucky because Mike had work in St. Simon which is only about an hour and 45 minutes away.  So while Mike took care of work, Singne met me for a nice afternoon of lunch, shopping and just catching up.  Singne is due with her first baby in about a month and looks great!  It was so fun to see her so pregnant.  I love it!  So fun to catch up Singne!  Look forward to seeing you again soon when your little girl arrives!

Shelves = Happy Homeowner

I have really been enjoying getting settled in my new house.  The one thing that has been frustrating though is that I was used to an entire wall of shelves in my old house.  The new house had no shelves.  Since moving here, I have been to nearly all the furniture stores in town looking for shelves that would look nice.  I had NO success!  They either were too small, the wrong color, wrong style, you name it, just not a fit for my house!  My parents contacted their contractor and he came to the rescue.  He called the painter and carpenter he uses in many of his new builds and they came and built some built in shelves for me!  I have finally been able to start putting things up and am getting rid of the pile of "stuff" in my dining room!  I guess when you get older, it is the little things in life that are exciting!  Yeah for shelves!

Night on the water

I had the nicest surprise the other night.  My sister called and asked if I wanted to join them for dinner.  They were going to go out on their boat and boat over to dinner.  It was SO nice!  One thing I am getting used to now living on the East Coast is that is stays light until almost 9pm. So I met them at the dock and we took the boat over to Shem Creek and had dinner at a restaurant called R B's which is right on the water.  It was so fun and nice to be included!
