Last Sunday my mom and I took Jesse, Bogey and Casey to church with us for the Blessing of the Animals! October 4th is Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi. In many Catholic and Episcopalian churches they do the blessing of the animals in coordination with this day to honor God's creatures. St. Francis is known as the patron Saint of animals. All of the pets received a blessing from Father Reed. It is cute, kids bring hamsters in cages and birds and rabbits and there are lots of cats and dogs too! This is definitely a must attend event for me each year!! Now I can rest assured the dogs are blessed for another year. :)
